I've never actually been into Coventry proper - I came to the station on the MBChB acceptance day and then went from there straight to the university. Tom wanted to go and see the latest DC Universe film (Justice League), so we took that as an opportunity to hang out and unwind after a busy week.
Long story short, the film is not good. A lot of the dialogue sounds like it was written by a robot pretending to be human, and you can tell that the movie has been re-edited numerous times, resulting in an enormous lack of consistency and coherence. The actors' performances were fine (particularly in the cases of Gal Gadot and Ray Fisher), but the whole thing seems to lumber along, unsure what it actually wants to do. Still, it was enjoyable and a good way to get away from the med school for a bit.
Had a short walk around afterwards, I needed to pick up some more smart-ish clothes for community and hospital days - so far I've been using the same pair of charcoal trousers every Friday and ironing them afterwards. At least we're not prone to fluid exposure with our current set of tasks. Tom also presented me with a set of gaming dice as an early Christmas present - a landmark point in the life of any nerd.
Speaking of nerds, in the evening we headed to a friend's house for the thrilling conclusion of the D&D story we had started about 5 weeks ago - we simply hadn't been able to get everyone together to finish it. Supported by wine, cake and fear of the large spider that was hiding somewhere in the room, we made it to the end, beating the dungeon. Despite almost having our entire party wiped by a completely optional room. Ah well.
