My parents are divorced, so today we went through to my Dad's house for a second Christmas Day of sorts. This involved (as you would expect) enormous amounts of food and a dog walk.
The dish of the day was Normandy Pheasant, partially to avoid having turkey two days in a row, and equally because the recipe made it sound delicious. Slow cooked pheasant meat in a creamy stock sauce with vegetables and caramelized apple. Neither me or my Dad are proficient cooks but it came out as well as one could have hoped and tasted amazing - perhaps a Christmas miracle.
