Clinical skills this morning - I was rushing around before leaving the house trying to find my stethoscope, which was completely pointless since we were focusing on taking psychiatric histories and mental state assessments. There were a lot of new concepts brought up given the added dimension of internal thought - it took us more than an hour to get through three trial attempts. I'm unsure quite how these will be reformed into OSCE format because based on my own experience, these normally take anywhere up to 40-50 minutes to do properly, but that's a problem for future me.
I've managed to do substantially more of the anatomy workbook this week, and since we had no hospital seminar today I have been able to refresh my memory in the library before the anatomy session with the specimens at 3.15. We found a study area at the top of the library in the Medical Teaching Centre that overlooks the carpark with a really nice view. Quite pleasant really, going over the bones of the skull and extra-ocular muscles while working my way through a compilation album featuring hits from the Great American Songbook.
