Exciting times - a day full of meetings followed by Warwick Clinical Skills Society’s (soon to be ratified, hopefully) first weekly OSCE practice seminar. I’ve been involved in setting up the society, with the main goal being to provide this weekly teaching to allow students to practice through the year. One of the biggest stresses I found was cramming all my OSCE practice right at the end of the year when I would have been better served doing a little often.
We were practicing history taking tonight, and we had quite a few volunteers from my own year so we were able to provide 1 on 2 assessor to first year training. My own group did extremely well, far better than I think I would have done at that point in the year. Here’s the next few - blood pressure and vitals next time!
