First CBL case of the block! We have a brand new facilitator, who has actually taught us for clinical skills before in hospital on a Friday. He kept very quiet during the case as we went about our ways, setting learning areas and researching individually before feeding back to the whole group.
Rather disturbingly, he professed some concern about the way our group was working at the end during our allotted feedback time. As a group this made alarm bells sound because of the similar incident during the last block. I'm beginning to suspect very much that the facilitators do not talk to one another about what goes on in sessions. I'm sure they have guidelines to follow, as we do, but something must be wrong for our last facilitator to twist us around to their way of doing things, which was then seen as incorrect or sub-optimal this time.
We went out for a CBL lunch in the afternoon, at Bar Fusion on main campus - they offer a mix of Indian and Chinese-style food. I opted for battered chicken balls with a sweet-and-sour sauce, which were absolutely fantastic, as were the accompanying chips. We've decided to just carry on as we are in CBL and get on with it. We don't have the time to rework our style completely to please facilitators, so unless there's some happy medium to be found, we'll try to preserve the good feelings we have at the moment.
