Day 172 - General Surgery (14/03/2018)

Final CBL case for a while - nice and simple relative to the others. While there was less to do than usual, we tried to get everything we could out of the case in terms of both academic medicine and SocPop/VLE.

I spent the afternoon studying in the BioMed grid rather than the medical school as it's a bit quieter (usually) and made the most of the whiteboards there by drawing out some large arterial 'homunculi' of sorts. I've done a version for both arteries and veins and plan to make a combined version which shows them all on one neat diagram.

There are a couple of mistakes here so don't come down on me too hard

In the evening was another event in the 'So You Want To Be A Surgeon' series - this time focusing on General Surgery, with specialists in vascular surgery, colorectal surgery, hepatopancreaticobiliary surgery and endocrine surgery. Once again it was the speaker from the specialty I'd never heard of that really stole the show in my opinion (HPB), and the talks are available on my YouTube channel if you want to hear them for yourselves.
