Very hurriedly finished my second case report this morning, the due date, despite having more than 5 weeks to work on it. Ah well. I ended up writing my essay portion on surgical management of pulmonary embolectomy which turned out to be extremely interesting - essentially how doctors decide whether or not surgical intervention is necessary in acute cases of pulmonary embolism.
I did realise today however that I'm incredibly rusty when it comes to OSCE examinations (having not practiced them for 5 weeks), which culminated in me forgetting to take the examined patient's name or date of birth, as well as taking the 'radial' pulse on the wrong side of the arm entirely as I had my hands rotated the wrong way. Sad times.
