Exciting morning! My new camera arrived and I went to pick it up from the depot. Until now I’ve been using the Canon EOS 600D for all my video content, but have now upgraded to the Panasonic Lumix GH4. It’s a beauty.
In the afternoon we had an interesting session on communication skills, focusing on telephone consultations. In my case I was taking a history from a patient that I couldn’t see and it very rapidly became apparent they were probably having a heart attack. I ended the consult and advised them to phone an ambulance immediately, promptly hanging up and wishing them ‘good luck’, much to the amusement of my coursemates.
Must come up with something better to say to people having heart attacks.
I was also able to drop off a couple of textbook prizes to students who entered our NeuroSoc raffle (prizes very generously provided by the Association of British Neurologists). Congratulations to the winners!
